Hello! My name is Sondre Bjellås.
I work with computers, building software.
My job involves solutions architecture at
Steria.
Contact me by email at post-at-sondreb.com, or by calling +47 948
06 220.
This is my personal website. The opinions expressed here represent my own
and not those of my employer.
People tend to call me a Geek and that's probably the best description for what
I am. I'm a creative and imaginative person who finds an interest in almost
everything. I was a while ago awarded "Geek of the Year" in Norway by
Microsoft.
With many years of experience with software development, I enjoy public speaking
as a means to share my knowledge and experience. I also engage with user groups,
blogs, forums and communities.
I try to use my time and mind to keep myself occupied with projects, such as my
entry in the Norwegian Drifting Motorsport. When I'm on the computer, I like
to tinkle with various open source software projects, develop and maintain websites
and blogs, produce "high-quality" videos, play video games and surf the
World Wide Web for knowledge.
Doing volunteer work is rewarding and an excellent way for me to share my experience
and knowledge with those around me. Been active with the Norwegian .NET User Group
(NNUG) in Oslo and have previously been a board member in NNUG Kristiansand. I'm
hoping to soon form a Norwegian Robotics User Group if there is time and interests
for it.
Additionally I'm an awarded member of the Microsoft Regional Directors Program and Connected Systems
Advisor (BizTalk, WF, WCF, "Dublin", "Oslo") and a Visual Studio
Team System Champion. On top of all this I'm an active beta tester for a lot
of Microsoft products and services; it's a pleasure to give constructive feedback
that sometimes is included in their products and services.
Finally I like to contribute in the online community through dialog and discussions
on topics and trends that affects us all, issues such as privacy and security in
the online world.
Blogging is a big part of my life and I'm active on multiple blogs. My two primary
blogs is the one hosted here, where I write a lot about technology, robotics and
Microsoft with focus on software development and architecture. The second major
blog is a blog in Norwegian that takes up important issues on technology, the future,
privacy and also with hints and tips on how to use technology to improve your daily
life.
Doing presentations is a great way to share my experience and knowledge. If you
would like to book me for a speaking engagement, please email me using the contact
details on the top. Do presentations in both Norwegian and English. Have done presentations
throughout my carrer and here are some of my recent content.
- Cloud Computing: New Business Opportunities
- Introduction to the term Cloud Computing and informative descriptions on it's

One of my passions in life is technology and programming and I try to learn and
understand everything. When I'm not busy at work, I try to use some of my time
to contribute to Open Source projects. Some of my projects and contributions include:
Check my blog for some great posts on robotics,
team system, programming, technology and life in general.
Boks is a rich interactive application that you can use to organize all your stuff,
like books, CDs, movies and more. Basically it's a way to throw everything into
a box, for storage and retrieval purposes. It will help you remember which movies,
CDs and books you have purchased, which ones you have already read, planning on
reading or watching.
